While range of available f-numbers maximizes flexibility with which to choose depth of field and throughput to meet application requirements, broadband anti-reflection (AR) coating and degree of lens-to-lens variation optimizes light transmission. Lenses have adjustable, lockable focus that lets user set best position prior to integration into instrumentation.
