USDA recently announced a $20 million program aimed at helping states better handle the rapidly growing feral hog population, blamed for more than $1.5 billion in damage annually. Yes, because feral swine leave damage in their wake spreading diseases, killing young livestock and ruining crop fields. Maybe, feral hogs have become a serious problem in 78% of the states, but $20 million is a large amount of money.
