Start date and duration Starting ASAP on a one year contract. Customer and Location The position is for Airbus Defence and Space based in ImmenstaadFriedrichshafen. The location for this position is on one of the major sites of our client in Southern Germany. Airbus DS is one of the key players in the European satellite and launcher industries. At the Immenstaad site around 2500 people are employed, working on space and defence projects. The space division is specialized in Earth Observation, Navigation and Science. Tasks and Responsibilities Support performance of static and dynamic mechanical analysis of science, earth observation and navigation satellites and their components Support performance of mechanical stability performance analyses for space instruments and highly stable structures for space applications Mapping of thermal analysis results on mechanical mathematical models and performance of thermal distortion analyses Support performance of stress, strength and buckling analyses for structural components of satellites Support performance of nonlinear mechanical analyses of structural components of satellites Performance of multibodysimulations, especially for mechanisms Performance of plausibility checks and hand calculation to validate the analysis results Support simulation and surveillance of vibration tests of satellites and their components Application of the pre and postprocessing software PATRAN and the FEM solver NASTRAN Documentation and archiving of all activities, mathematical models and analysis and test results. Requirements Degree in Aerospace andor Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 2 year of experience in mechanical engineering activities, preferably for space applications Experience with FEM absolutely necessary Experience with PATRAN would be nice to have Experience with NASTRAN would be nice to have High level of team work skills, independent working methods, open and purposeful communication style Experience in cooperation within development teams consisting of different technical disciplines Fluent in English and German.
