LEO Integration, Verification and Validation Engineer

For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a LEO Integration, Verification and Validation Engineer. The key person will initially be part of the EUMETSAT Sentinel3 Project Team and then of the EUMETSAT Sentinel6Jason CS Project Team. The key person will be working in both cases as a member of the System Engineering Team. The tasks will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt with interactions with Sentinel3 or Sentinel6Jason CS Teams located in ESTEC Noordwijk, ESOC Darmstadt, CNES Toulouse, NASANOAA Washington DC and ESRIN Frascati. Travel within Europe and to USA will be required to follow System integration verification and validation activities. Tasks and Responsibilities The key person will perform activities of Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of the various components of the Sentinel3 Ground Segment located in EUMETSAT and the various components of the Sentinel6Jason CS Ground Segment. Shehe will support the Overall System Validation OSV activities for these two missions. All the Ground Segment IVV activities for Sentinel6 JasonCS Team will be performed by a dedicated IVV group within the System Team. The key person will be fully integrated in the IVV Team and would interface with the inhouse experts of the various disciplines system, operations, ground and space segment and with appropriate representatives EUMETSAT Partners Organisations ESA, CNES, NASA and NOAA. It is expected that the tasks to be performed by the Key Person will typically include Provision of support and advice to the Sentinel3 or Sentinel6Jason CS System Team Leaders for all issues related to Ground Segment IVV as well as OSV activities Contribution to the production and updates of the Ground Segment IVV High Level Plans Generation of the detailed Ground Segment IVV tests specification by integrating the inputs of the various experts into a coherent and resourceefficient Integration Verification and Validation approach Definition and support to the development of test tools and test data sets required for Ground Segment IVV Leading the preparation and the execution of the Ground Segment IVV test procedures Leading the coordination of the testing, including dailyweekly meeting, the analysis of test results and the preparation of the test reports Contribution to the definition of the Overall System Validation Test Plan and the execution of the Satellite Overall System Validation activities Contribution to the preparation of the System Commissioning Plan and to the execution of the System Commissioning Preparation and maintenance of schedule, resource allocations and Work Breakdown Structures for IVV activities Support to the identification and the assessment of risks related to IVV activities and implementation of mitigation measures Monitor and, where applicable, steering the lifecycle for all related anomaly reports ARs nonconformance reports NCRs. Requirements Essentials The Key Person shall have, as a prerequisite a demonstrated experience of more than five years in the area of Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of Earth Observation Systems Satellite and Ground. This experience shall include Testing and verification of complex data processing systems Involvement in development lifecycle of Earth Observation Systems from design to validation Preparation of IVV plans, specifications and procedures Definition and settingup of the logistic tasks related to the preparation and execution of Integration and IVV tests, including the involvement by external entities partners and industry Leading the coordination activities and running dailyweekly meetings Use of standards applicable to IVV activities QA, Configuration Management, Definition and use of Test Data for IVV activities in particular with respect to the needs and the usage. Furthermore, the Key Person shall have a goal oriented attitude with a good level of communication skills enabling working effectively in a large integrated team distributed in different geographical locations. The Key Person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with a minimum of supervision. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key Person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
