LNG giants search for answers on cost conundrum

The Chevron LNG project on Barrow Island has been plagued by labour productivity issues, project scope changes and bad weather. Some of the world's mosts powerful LNG producers have issued a stark warning that future growth in the industry relies on coming up with lower-cost, more flexible ways of meeting rising demand, as customers baulk at the traditional costly long-term contracts.
