Do you have what it takes to lead our Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Team? Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, EUMETSAT observes the atmosphere and ocean surfaces from space using a system of satellites 365 days a year. Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate. The closing date is 13th August and we expect to hold interviews in the wc September 2018. Are you an experienced manager who can use your operational and technical knowledge to lead our Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Team? You will be responsible for the operations of the Meteosat space segment, currently a fleet of four Meteosat Second Generation MSG satellites. The health and safety of the fleet is vital for supporting the continuous delivery of operational products and services to our users. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the operations preparation for the next generation Meteosat Third Generation system, due for deployment in 202123, and to manage the transition of its space segment into routine operations. To succeed in this senior role you must have significant experience in managing an operations preparation team or one involved in operations of complex space systems. This is a challenging operational environment, and you will need to use your outstanding technical and management skills to identify opportunities and solutions whilst mitigating risks. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to understand complex issues with the ability to express ideas and issues clearly and concisely. You will work with our international partners and suppliers to support current and future operations which will change the way we understand our world.
