Dedicated team of engineers at NREL's Smart Power Laboratory in its Energy Systems Integration Facility are developing technologies that will help smart homes of the future perform efficiently and communicate effectively with electricity grid while optimizing occupants' comfort and convenience. Within its 5,300 sq ft, lab features 3 smart home test bays capable of evaluating variety of household appliances and systems, such as water heating and washer/dryer setups.
