OnBoard Payload Data Processing Engineer

You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support within the OnBoard Payload Data Processing section, encompassing hardware, software and system aspects. This position is based in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include You will be validating signal and image processing algorithms via simulation techniques e.g. Matlab, prototyping SW You will be defining, designing and validating payload data acquisition, processing and storage chains You will be implementing payload data processing functions on processors e.g. Digital Signal Processors and FPGAs based platforms You will provide specific engineering support in the above domains to mainstream ESA space projects, mainly for but not restricted to the development and testing phases. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You hold a PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies University, Ecole suprieure, etc. or equivalent. You have at least 4 years of relevant working experience. You have an extensive knowledge in signal and image processing techniques and devices You have an extensive experience in procurement of units, subsystems integration and testing You have a good knowledge in onboard electronics design related to data acquisition, processing and storage functions You have a wide knowledge in communication networks principles, standards and their implementation. This includes highspeed networks such as SpaceWire and SpaceFibre You are able to work in an autonomous manner, in particular when providing support to projects with high time allocations and this in coordination with the line manager How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
