Our client, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. One of their objectives is to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. They are seeking a consultant to join the PMO for the development of the Ground Segment for a second generation satellite system which is due to launch its first satellite in mid2021. The consultants key tasks will be to coordinate and maintain the GS Project Management Plan, Team Organisation Chart, Work Breakdown Structure, Work Packages, Product Tree and related documents as well as track progress against agreed development plans. The Consultant should have a University degree and have the following mandatory skills and experience At least 3 years performing project management activities preferably on large and complex development projects in the aerospace domain or similar Ability to make synthesis from various written or verbal inputs with excellent English writing skills Computer skills with strong experience with MS Office software Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project etc. Desirable experience includes Certification in project management or in project management disciplines Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and processes Experience of Ground Segment development andor Earth observation systems. The working language is English. This is a permanent employee assignment starting in Aug Sept 2016.
