Project Manager LuxGovSat Ref 0008 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company LuxGovSat SA Category Other Position Staff Published 20160510 Context LuxGovSat is a pioneer and innovator in governmental, civil security and defense satellite communications GOVSATCOM, jointly held by the global satellite operator SES, headquartered in Luxembourg, and the Luxembourg Government. The objectives of LuxGovSat are the acquisition, the launch and the operation of a satellite for the provision of governmental and defense communication services. The new satellite, GovSat1, will bring new capacity in governmental frequency bands and feature security capabilities with steerable highpowered spot beams. In a unique PublicPrivate Venture, it will ensure the security, reliability and flexibility for the everchanging missions of governments and institutions in the security, defense and civil areas. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017. The spacecraft will be positioned at the orbital position 21.5 degrees East and will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. GovSat1 will help Luxembourg to meet its obligations in European and NATO defense and will address the requirements of other governments and institutions, in particular the EU NATO member states and agencies. For more information visit www.govsat.lu The Project Manager of LuxGovSat is responsible for the successful closure, implementation and Project Management tasks during the operational phase of larger projects andor programs. SheHe is also responsible for selecting people and managing project teams of LuxGovSat internal people andor external contractors. On a daytoday basis, shehe will mainly but not exclusively collaborate with the SES technical entities and personnel. Based at the LuxGovSat headquarter in Betzdorf, the position supports the project management task for LuxGovSat. Responsibilities Overall Project Management and coordination and integration of subprojects Interfacing with customer and collecting requirements for the setup of budgets, procurements, installation management and the operational handover of systems Interfacing project team members and using professional project management tools as appropriate to report and document project status Coordination with other functions Project Control, Legal, Finance for the transparent and effective realization of assigned programs Managing customer relationships Responsible for regular project related reports weeklymonthlyquarterly Followup and understanding of the related products and systems market Traveling to customers, vendors and attending exhibitions, conferences, workgroup meetings Attract contracts by supporting the various request for proposal phases like proposal preparation, proposal handover and proposal negotiation Execute other telecommunications related projects ExperiencesQualifications Have a university degree in RF, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent Project Management certificates Prince2 andor ITIL would be an asset Have excellent and proven project management experience in order of priority Have proven experience in managing multiyear SATCOM services provision contracts involving capacity volumes, coverage ranges and availability requirements Be familiar with Prince2 terminology and process for project management certification desirable Be familiar with ITIL v3 terminology and processes ITIL certification desirable Fluency in English and a maximum of other languages Experienced in the daily usage of office and communication software Lotus Notes, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Project Ability to integrate into andor lead crossfunctional project teams Good verbal and written communication capabilities Strong analytical sense Selfstarting qualities Excellent coordination and priority setting abilities Proactive approach towards existing and potential customers Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Readiness to travel internationally Reporting to Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, LuxGovSat Apply for this Job online
