Senior Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem Payload Ref SES0854 Region Europe Location FranceToulouse and UKPortsmouth Company SES Category Space Engineering Position Staff Published 20160802 Context The Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem Payload is responsible for providing resident payload repeater and antenna engineering support to satellite programs from the contract signature up to the satellite launch activities. Responsibilities In particular the incumbent Supports the Spacecraft Team as a local field office resident engineer Provides daily oversight of Design, Assembly, Integration, Test, and Launch phases Provides oversight of activities at Manufacturer and Subcontractor facilities as needed Performs in process inspections with manufacturers Participates in design, manufacturing, test readiness completion, material and failure reviews Reviews design, manufacturing and test documentation Provides summary reports of issues and recommended actions Ensure that the specification of each payload equipment unit is consistent with meeting the endtoend system performance and functional requirements Ensure that all payload unit, subsystem and system test procedures comply with the contractual requirements Participate in design, test readiness, material and failure review meetings at manufacturer sub and primecontractor facilities as needed Critically examine the anomaly investigation results in root cause analysis and ensure that corrective actions are implemented Monitor flow of payload components thru build, test and integration into the next higher assembly Perform the equipment and Spacecraft repeater and antenna test data review for compliance with requirements Monitor daily payload activities at spacecraft manufacturer facility Ensure that the program action items are adequately addressed and closed Provide 247 on call support during payload system testing and single line flow Support Payload IOT testing Experience Qualifications Master Degree or equivalent in ElectricalTelecommunication Engineering Integration and testing experience Ability to work day to day issues with manufacturer and program team Experience in spacecraft payload mission specification and operations Good communication skills and team spirit Excellent writing and reporting skills Negotiation skills, assertiveness Understanding of payload architecture, design and manufacturing Analogue and digital payload equipment, repeater and antenna subsystem Link budgets, repeater RF performance measurement Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits.
