CGI is one of Europes leading suppliers of ground data systems for space missions. Amongst others, we are responsible for developing the mission control system for Galileo, Europes navigation satellite system, and for core systems within EUMETSATs data processing chain. To support the growth of our business we are seeking experienced space system architects that are able to drive the design and implementation of large complex systems and willing to share knowledge and mentor junior architects. Our team is based in Darmstadt, Germany. With our global client base there are many opportunities for travel and for longer assignments both within Germany and overseas. You will be working as part of an international, dynamic and successful team on some of the most challenging and exciting space projects in Europe. Tasks Work with our customers to understand their business needs and define requirements for solutions. Own system architectures from the bid phase through to implementation. Document architectures and promote their acceptance with all stakeholders. Represent CGI as a technical expert in client meetings, at conferences, and space industry bodies. Use your technical expertise to contribute to business strategy and development. Drive knowledge acquisition and sharing within the CGI community. Actively act as a mentor for junior architects. Qualifications You have a university degree in science or a technical discipline, e.g. computer science, aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics. You have a track record of at least 5 years working as a technical architect for IT solutions, ideally in the aerospace domain. You are an excellent problem solver and you are used to taking ownership of matters and drive them forward proactively. You are passionate about space and about defining complex technical systems. Ideally you are familiar with common space standards defined by organisations such as ECSS and CCSDS. You are familiar with standardised approaches to developing and documenting system architectures. You are a team player, you share knowledge, and you can demonstrate an interest in mentoring colleagues. You are always trying to learn and improve your skills and abilities. You are fluent in English written and spoken. You will be working as part of an international, dynamic and successful team on some of the most challenging and exciting space projects in Europe.
