Client and Location For one of our customers we are currently recruiting a Sentinel Optical Payload Architect for their location in Bremen, Germany. With 1200 employees on multiple locations in Germany and 2500 worldwide, this organization is one of the top players in the European space industry. The organization specializes in Systems Engineering and offers hightech solutions for space. The company is currently working on some of Europes major satellite and spacecraft development and manufacturing programs and is looking for support within the Optics Department. As a Sentinel Optical Payload Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the compatibility of the satellite design with the mission e.g. Science, Earth Observation, Analysis and flow down of the Mission and the Payload requirements into an Optical Payload Specification. Special focus on the Sentinel missions 7 8. Tasks and Responsibilities Satellite Payload apportionment mass, power, dissipation, TMTC, pointing ... and management of budgets Definition and control of SatellitePayload interfaces Optical Payload validation within the satellite Payload Subsystems essential architectural definitions Support and coordination of systems and subsystem reviews and trades Organization and participation to payload and system reviews e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, DRB, etc and progress meetings To interface toward the customers for all aspects concerning the Payload. Experience and Education University degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, physics or related disciplines and professional experience of at last 2 years Profound knowledge in the field of optical instruments High motivation and proactive involvement Excellent conceptual and problem solving skills as well as developed communication and negotiation skills Ability to work in international teams Fluency in spoken and written English Ideally, experience in the development of satellites in Phases 0 to B2 Knowledge in optical payload architecture and interface management is an asset Further foreign languages are an asset.
