Skanska Drops U.S. Chamber of Commerce Membership to Protest Proposed LEED Ban for Government Buildings

Skanska resigned as a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to protest the organizations backing of an initiative to ban use of LEED for government buildings. In other news, Power REIT closed on the acquisition of 100 acres that supports over 20MW of utility-scale solar projects located near Fresno, Calif., for $1.6 million. Los Angeles flipped the switch for its CLEAN Los Angeles rooftop solar incentive program, the nation's largest. Chambers Street Properties announced that a two-building, five-story office property in Malvern, Pa., has earned LEED Silver certification. And IKEA has extended its partnership with ECOtality Inc. with plans to add 24 Blink electric vehicle charging stations at eight more U.S. locations. read more
