Staff supported by local Country based offices We offer our staff a number of additional benefits and assistance For our activities with the European Space Agency, Serco Nederland BV is looking for an Engineer with a background in Telecommunications or Remote Sensing. Overview The successful applicant will report to the Head of the Awareness Section, provide support in the definition of the relevant programmatic and technical tasks as well as in the definition and execution of awareness related activities in the frame of the ARTES 20 programme. You will be in charge of leveraging European userscustomers throughout the fields of Development, Energy, Food and Agriculture, Health, Transport, Security and Environment. Applicants require a strong background in earth observation, satnav and satcom, and should be able to systematically analyse the applicability of integrated technologies within the thematic fields mentioned above. Knowledge in web design, in the use of graphical software and digital video generation would be an asset. Deliverables Investigation and consolidation of usermarket needs and translation into user service requirement documents Preparation of relevant documents e.g. ITTs, calls for ideas, calls for proposals, content for the Online Portal Definition of the application architecture, including interfaces and interoperability between different space and nonspace systems Organisation of user and industry workshops Preparation of TIA project and strategy related presentations, slideshows, videos and brochures Monitoring of scientific and commercial developments in the fields of Development, Energy, Food and Agriculture, Health, Transport land, sea and air, Security and Environment Initiation of activities and studies related to the area of responsibility Implementation and management of feasibility studies Provision of technical support in the areas of responsibility, and coordination of support provided by other ESA Directorates Liaison with user and stakeholder communities in the areas of responsibility Qualifications and Requirements Applicants for this position should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications or Remote Sensing. You will have significant and sound experience in the domains covered by this position, with a specific emphasis in the spacebased application domain involving space technologies such as earth observation, satellite communications, satellite navigation and human space flight. You do require extensive knowledge in at least one of the space disciplines, with a good understanding of operational aspects of applications and services. You will posses good analytical, strategic and formulating skills, as well as the ability to work within an international environment. Systematic work, creativity and an innovative attitude are all considered important factors for the holder of the post. You will possess good communication and problem solving skills, and be able to manage relationships, work in a team and be self motivate and disciplined.
