Sydney Morning Herald: Residents of a township west of Bendigo have been told it`s too late to leave as a raging grass fire threatens homes. The Country Fire Authority has issued an emergency warning for Maiden Gully, with residents warned to take shelter immediately. The grass fire is moving south-easterly from Shumakers Lane towards Homer Beacon Road. The CFA warned that homes in the Homer Beacon Road vicinity are under threat.
