DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eleven was located near latitude 27.5 North, longitude 70.2 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 6 mph (9 km/h), and a turn toward the west-northwest is expected over the next day or two. Reports from an Air Force reconnaissance aircraft indicate that the maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected overnight, but the depression could become a tropical storm on Tuesday. The Air Force plane measured a minimum central pressure of 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
