US Q2 in brief: Guess, PVH Corp, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express

Second-quarter earnings for the retail sector as a whole are forecast to be lower than the prior month, despite easy year-on-year comparisons. Guess saw both earnings and sales fall in the quarter, while PVH Corp revealed second-quarter results that beat its expectations, upping its full-year guidance. Express also raised its full-year outlook after its profit increased more than threefold, DSW said it remains confident in its direction after earnings grew, and Foot Locker had an "outstanding" quarter with sales, earnings and margins all up.
