US Q3 in brief: DSW, Chico's, Abercrombie & Fitch, Foot Locker

In the most recent third-quarter filings from US apparel brands and retailers, Abercrombie & Fitch recorded higher earnings thanks to less discounting, while Foot Locker revealed a mixed quarter, and Destination XL narrowed losses. Also, Kate Spade & Co returned to profit, while L Brands, Ross Stores, and Perry Ellis lifted their full-year guidance. TJX Companies booked earnings and sales growth, but Nordstrom, Dick's Sporting Goods and Wal-Mart lowered their full-year outlook. JC Penney narrowed its loss, while Macy's, Urban Outfitters, and The Buckle all posted double-digit earnings declines.
