(Telecompaper) Vodafone is streamlining its management structure in Europe, while also creating a new group commercial officer role. The existing divisions of Northern & Central Europe and Southern Europe will be merged to create one Europe region. Turkey will be removed from the European division and report within the Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific region, based on the country's emerging market characteristics. Philipp Humm, currently Regional CEO Northern & Central Europe, is to become Regional CEO Europe. Paolo Bertoluzzo, currently Regional CEO Southern Europe and head of Vodafone Italia, will take the new role of Group Chief Commercial and Operations Officer. He will oversee the activities Brand, Consumer, Unified Communications, Terminals, Customer Operations and Partner Markets, as well as the recently-created Group Enterprise organisation. Vodafone said the changes will allow it to accelerate implementation of its Vodafone 2015 strategy and increase efficiency.
