This mission's intention was to assess the implementation of OIE standards on zonal freedom of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) without vaccination and the progress made on the implementation of recommendations made to South Africa in the 2013 assessment mission.

The electrocution death of a Duke Energy Progress contractor is delaying connection efforts for some solar projects in North Carolina as the utility and its vendor try to determine what happened and what measures are needed to prevent future accidents. Duke spokesman Randy Wheeless says the utility has not suspended solar farm connections.
