The recent recommendation to eliminate overnight PATH service in Hoboken, a city that has the highest percentage of transit ridership in the country, is a clear step backwards for New Jersey. Cutting PATH service is also very out of touch with what is happening in Hoboken, particularly the upcoming New Jersey Transit rail yard development, which will only increase the demand for reliable PATH service.

More than 130 Port Authority of New York and New Jersey employees have more than doubled their base salaries this year by working so much overtime in the first nine months of 2014, according to a newspaper analysis that found that 13 police officers will make more than the agency's executive director.
