Advocates for rooftop solar installations say a bill that passed the Nevada Legislature this spring may not have settled a dispute they're having with NV Energy after all. The Alliance for Solar Choice is asking the Nevada Public Utilities Commission to rule that the utility must continue buying back energy from rooftop solar installations if a state cap on the so-called "net metering" process is reached earlier than anticipated.

Western Nevada College student CJ Straw builds and tests an electrical circuit in the Applied Industrial Technology program hands-on lab class. Western Nevada College has received a grant to purchase Department of Labor approved equipment, course development, grant management staff assistance to students and program support for the College's newly expanded Applied Industrial Technology program.

A national arts organization has chosen NV Energy and the NV Energy Foundation as one of the 2015 top 10 businesses in the country for helping community arts to thrive, based on a nomination from the Nevada Arts Council earlier this year. Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit for advancing the arts and arts education, selected the company as part of the Business Committee for the Arts awards known as the BCA 10. NV Energy and the NV Energy Foundation are the first business in Nevada to receive this recognition.
