LG replaces mobile CEO, hires new CTO from Samsung

(Telecompaper) LG Electronics is replacing the head of its mobile phone business. Hwang Jeong-hwan has been named president and CEO of the LG Mobile Communications Company, while current president Juno Cho takes on a new role within LG's parent company. Hwang has years of experience in R&D and was closely involved in developing one of LG's first smartphones in 2009 as head of the CTO's Multimedia R&D Lab, the company said.

Deutsche Telekom hires Justin Bieber to front new StreamOn campaign

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom has hired pop star Justin Bieber for a new marketing campaign to promote its StreamOn option. The campaign starts 20 November and will run through the holiday season on TV, online and in print, as well as at points of sale.
