FreedomPop invites beta testers for summer launch in UK

(Telecompaper) US MVNO FreedomPop has announced that it will launch in the UK this summer, marking its entry into the European market. The operator has started taking registrations for beta users on a first-come, first-serve basis. FreedomPop will offer a Sim-only plan with 200 minutes, 200 SMS and 200 MB of data free of charge, as well as higher tier services at yet unspecified prices. Customers can then top up to add more volume. It also includes free international calling to over 60 countries and unlimited calls and texts between FreedomPop subscribers. In addition, the company is launching Jetsetter, a global Sim offering free service and to be made initially available in the UK, France and Spain, with beta user registrations set to follow.
