IHS to acquire HTN tower sites in Nigeria

(Telecompaper) African telecom infrastructure provider IHS and Helios Towers Nigeria have entered into an agreement under which IHS will acquire HTN's portfolio of 1,211 diversified tower sites throughout Nigeria. Subject to the usual regulatory approvals, IHS will acquire the entire issued share capital of HTN from HTN Towers, which is ultimately owned by Helios Investment Partners, Pembani Group, First City Monument Bank and other minority shareholders. No financial details were disclosed.

A battle is heating up between online travel sites and U.S. hotels over the best way to book your hotel room. The American Hotel and Lodging Association, the trade group for hotels in the U.S., is pushing for legislation to crack down on fraudulent online booking sites that trick travelers into paying for hotel rooms but have no relation to the hotels.

Guardian: Climate activists will use direct action to try to shut down major coal sites across the world in May, including the UKs largest opencast coal mine in south Wales. The dozen international sites facing civil disobedience from the Break Free 2016 campaign span the globe from the US to Australia and South Africa to Indonesia.
