Tasks to be performed Provide system engineering support to the Satellite SegmentElement Security design activities reporting to the Head of the GNSS Space Segment Security Unit. This includes Satellite SegmentElement Security design activities, ensuring coherency and compatibility in the security design across procurement areas and its reporting to the System Engineering processes SatelliteElement Security AIV activities and its reporting to the System AIV processes Accreditation activities for GNSS Space Segment, Components and Launcher Participating to project meetings and reviews, including panel secretariat functions, in areas related to space segment security Central Security Unity CSU Technical Officer deputy Participation to GNSS intersegment activities concerned with satellite security issues Early identification and resolution of problem areas and support to inorbit flight performance evaluation To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required The candidate shall have a good knowledge and several years experience in spacecraft systems in all project phases including avionics hardware and software design and testing. Masters Degree or equivalent in a related field Experience in security equipment for space programs is also required. The candidate shall be eligible for Galileo Personal Security Clearance PSC from an EU Member State. Being already in possession of security clearance will be considered an asset for the selection. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. A range of support tasks is required to be carried out by the Contractor in system engineering and subsystem domains, including early throughout implementation phases of space projects, in particular for small demonstration missions and education projects.
