AT&T sets new sales record in first day of iPhone orders

(Telecompaper) AT&T announced that it broke its previous iPhone pre-sales record. The new Apple smartphone went on sale 12 September on AT&T's website and will be delivered to the first customers on 19 September. AT&T Mobility CEO Glenn Lurie said this was the operator's "biggest iPhone, pre-order launch day eve". The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available for no money down on AT&T Next. Apple announced separately that it also received a record number of orders for the new phones on the first day of pre-sales.
