Your Tasks Design, analysis and configuration of avionic systems for satellite applications Production and maintenance of documentation analyses, specifications, test procedures, reports and design descriptions Development and implementation of test concepts Support to the selection and supervision of subcontractors Support to satellite projects from start to customer acceptance Acquisition of new orders and appropriate proposals Your Qualifications A degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering or comparable qualifications Experience in Satellite On Board Data Handling is a plus Experience with hardware projects in phase BCD, preferably in the field of avionic systems on board computer and associated subsystems Excellent communication skills, high motivation, flexibility and ability to work independently Superior way of dealing with customers and willingness to travel Fluency in spoken and written English

University of Surrey Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences Surrey Space Centre The Surrey Space Centre SSC, part of the Department of Electronic Engineering, is a worldclass institution for space research. The successful candidate will join one of the largest space systems groups in Europe under the guidance of Professor Vaios Lappas. One of SSCs projects is RemoveDebris, expected to demonstrate the first successful capture of debris in space utilising a net and harpoon. The Research Fellow is expected to additionally work on other related ESA, EU and industrially funded space projects. This 18 month post ideally requires somebody with 3 years experience in CubeSat microsatellite bussubsystem design. The candidate will have good knowledge of ADCS AOCS, communication systems, EPS power systems, solar panels, OBCs, thermal systems, systems integration and ideally will have worked on an active satellite mission in this capacity. In addition, the candidate will have knowledge of procurement, manufacture, experimental setup, testing and some knowledge on assembly, integration, testing AIT.
