BT's new chief exec, Philip Jansen, has set out his desire to reinstate BT as a "national champion" in an earnings call with journalists on Thursday morning. Jansen said that BT would continue to invest heavily in 5G and full fibre fixed broadband services, as the company looks to continue leading from the front in both fields. The BT premier reiterated his company's desire to focus on providing its customers with an expanding portfolio of converged products and services, built on the bedrock of ubiquitous, next generation connectivity. "Our aim is to deliver the best converged network and be the leader in fixed ultrafast and mobile 5G networks," he said. Iliad returns to positive revenue growth in France, sets eyes on B2B market opportunity

(Telecompaper) Iliad reported on its first-quarter revenue performance and unveiled the 2024 Odyssey plan, detailing its medium-term strategic goals in France and Italy. The group's revenues rose to EUR 1.29 billion in the three months to March, up 7.7 percent year-on-year. This progression was mainly driven by its Italian operations, which launched commercially in May 2018. Iliad also benefited from higher device sales in France (+30.4%), linked to the new Freebox Delta Player STB, as well as the revenue contribution of French B2B operator Jaguar Network, in which the group acquired a majority stake in January.
