Russian state-controlled telecoms provider Rostelecom lifted its 2015 revenue and profitability forecasts on Thursday, citing improving macroeconomic conditions and a decreasing cost of capital. Rostelecom now sees revenues growing this year, having previously forecast flat sales, and a core profit margin of 33-34 percent compared with its earlier guidance for a margin on operating income before depreciation and amortisation of above 30 percent.

CTC, 38-percent owned by Sweden's MTG, had said it is considering a potential sale to comply with a new Russian law on foreign ownership. Vedomosti reported, citing a source close to one of Rostelecom's shareholders and an unnamed Rostelecom executive, that Rostelecom was studying the possibility of buying CTC Media.

The source says that in 2014, Rostelecom, without remuneration, built the high-speed fiber-optic data transfer network at UWC Dilijan College and undertook to provide services of high-speed broadband internet access, telephony and interactive TV for students and residents of the college campus.
