China Telecom's H1 profit jumps 7%, revenue up 4%

(Telecompaper) China Telecom reported operating revenues of CNY 184.1 billion in the first half of 2017, which represents an increase of 4.1 percent year-on-year. Service revenues amounted to CNY 165.8 billion, up 6.8 percent compared to the year-earlier period. EBITDA amounted to CNY 52.4 billion, up 3.7 percent year-on-year, while EBITDA margin stood at 31.6 percent at 30 June 2017. Net profit reached CNY 12.5 billion, representing an increase of 7.4 percent over the same period of 2016.

China Unicom issues H1 revenue warning

China Unicom has warned that first half revenue will come in lower compared to last year, but profit will surge by almost 70%. Singtel's quarterly profit drops nearly 6%, revenue up 8%

(Telecompaper) Singtel reported operating revenue up 8.3 percent year-on-year to SGD 4.23 billion in the quarter ended 30 June. EBITDA was up nearly 3 percent to SGD 1.26 billion, while net profit fell 6 percent year-on-year to SGD 892 million, as a result of lower associates' contributions and exceptional charges for workforce restructuring at Optus. Free cash flow was SGD 1.2 billion.
