The Leicestershire retailer said like-for-like sales for the first 13 weeks of the current financial year increased by 4.4 per cent, with revamped shop formats helping drive growth. Although the pace of growth was described by analysts as "fine" it marked a slowdown from a 5.2 per cent increase for the same period last year.
