Apple App Store sets new holiday sales record

(Telecompaper) Apple's App Store recorded over USD 20 billion in sales last year. The company announced that a new sales record was also set over the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. In the two weeks ending 03 January, customers spent over USD 1.1 billion on apps and in-app purchases, setting back-to-back weekly records for traffic and purchases. The first day of 2016 marked the biggest day in App Store history with customers spending over USD 144 million. It broke the previous single-day record set a week earlier on Christmas Day.

The new Alfa Romeo-Fiat dealership going up at West Loop 340 and Bagby Avenue, on Waco's "Motor Mile," likely will open in May. That's according Billy Martin, who will serve as general manager of the 22,000-square-foot dealership that longtime car dealer Allen Samuels will own. Martin said in a phone interview the facility likely will employ between 30 and 40 people in the beginning and will have 225 to 250 new and used vehicles on display at any given time.
