NORTH BENNINGTON >> Members of the North Bennington Highway Department, community members, and local businesses came together to build a hay wagon, which the village will use during its upcoming Winter Festival, as well as at community events in the future. "Pretty much everybody I went to was willing to put something into this," said highway superintendent Norm LeBlanc, who said that all of the parts and labor were donated.

After fire destroys 150 Christmas turkeys, Sussex community rallies

WANTAGE - The Space family phone started ringing the day after a Dec. 12 fire raced through the Space Farms feed house and destroyed 150 frozen turkeys earmarked for needy Sussex County families . It rang for the next week or so and when it finally quieted down, the community had donated nearly $7,500 to the Sussex County Food Pantry to replace the turkeys, with Hopatcong resident Bill Condon donating $2,250 and the Allocca family, owners of a Mercedes and Honda car dealership in the county, stepping up to give $5,000, $2,500 from each dealership.
