Kinder Morgan has begun the process of seeking federal approvals for a natural gas pipeline project through northern Massachusetts that has already garnered significant local opposition. U.S. EPA announced settlement with E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (DuPont) for alleged violations of Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). DuPont will pay $1,853,000 to resolve allegations regarding its failure to submit reports to EPA about potential adverse effects of Imprelis herbicide and selling said product with labeling that did not ensure its safe use. E. & J. Gallo Winery , the Modesto-based wine-making giant, has donated $100,000 to Napa earthquake relief efforts, via the American Red Cross , the company said Friday. Gallo, founded in 1933 by Ernest and Julio Gallo , makes wines such as Gallo Family Vineyards, Barefoot Cellars, Frei Brothers Reserve and William Hill Estate, among many others.
