SE Ivon-Madison Green Street project Construction Update 12/4/13

Environmental Services is working on a project to construct thirteen green street planters near SE Ivon and 41st and near SE Madison and 57th. These facilities are designed to remove stormwater from the public sewer system, which reduces the possibility of basement backups into homes and businesses, and sewage overflows onto streets. These facilities also beautify the community and filter and clean stormwater runoff.

VAS North sewer repair project - construction update 11/25/13

As you know, Environmental Services is working on a project to repair deteriorating sewer pipes in the Vernon, Sabin and Alameda neighborhoods, roughly north of the Alameda Ridge. Sewers in these neighborhoods can be between 90 and 100 years old. The project will improve sewer system performance and add capacity to the collection system.

Overlook Sewer Project Construction Update: November 25, 2013

Environmental Services is replacing or repairing about 17,000 feet of public sewer pipes that are between 60-90 years old and failing due to age. The city installed many of these sewer pipes before 1920. The project also includes constructing about 9,100 feet of 6-inch sewer branch pipes that will connect homes and businesses to the new public sewer pipes.
