Slabtown Sewer Replacement Project Update: Planning Underway

Environmental Services is designing a sewer replacement project in the Slabtown district in northwest Portland. The neighborhood-wide project will increase sewer system capacity, reduce basement backups, and protect water quality and the environment. Southwest Ventilation Project Update: June 4, 2015

Environmental Services is working on a project to reduce sewer odors and increase the capacity of the Southwest Parallel Interceptor sewer system to accommodate potential growth. The contractor is installing about 1,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe along SW Taylors Ferry Road, 800 feet of 48-inch concrete pipe along SW Virginia Avenue, and permanent odor controls east of SW Taylors Ferry Road.

Brookside Green Street Project Update: May 22, 2015

Environmental Services is designing two green street planters that will collect stormwater runoff from SE Foster Road that currently flows untreated directly into Johnson Creek. The project will protect public health and water quality in Johnson Creek. Construction on the Brookside Green Street Project should begin later this summer.

This project will pilot planter designs meant to manage stormwater runoff from the public right-of-way in areas with surrounding industrial uses. Green streets also add green space to neighborhoods.
