Sprint says Obama net neutrality plan wouldn't curb investments

2015-01-16 20:27:09| IT Services - Topix.net

Sprint's position appears to contrast with other cable and phone companies who have staunchly rejected the possibility that the FCC regulate Internet service providers more strictly under a section of communications law known as Title II, which would treat them more like public utilities.

Regardless of what federal regulators decide about net neutrality, Sprint Corp. wants a light supervisory touch when it comes to the resulting rules. A major player in mobile Internet access, Sprint's chief technology officer said the Federal Communications Commission should allow competition to thrive in the wireless industry by keeping its regulatory nose out of it.
