Champions Selected At 2013 National Western Hereford Show

Hereford excitement abounded from the Yards to the Hill at the National Western Stock Show Jan. 17-19 in Denver. A total of 731 Herefords were exhibited throughout the three-day event. There was 390 head in the open show, 126 in the junior show, 39 pens of bulls, 16 heifer pens and five carloads. Hereford activities got underway in the Stadium Arena on the Hill with the bull show on Thursday, Jan. 17, judged by Hampton Cornelius, LaSalle, CO. Following the bull show, Gene Steiner, Mason City, OH, evaluated the bull show. read more

Hoffman, Colyer Take Top Honors in Hereford Yard Show

Hoffman Herefords, Thedford, NE, reigned victorious in the Hereford carload show on Friday, Jan. 18, during the 2013 National Western Stock Show (NWSS) in Denver. Colyer Herefords, Bruneau, Idaho, topped the pen of three bull show for the third year in a row and Coyote Ridge Ranch, LaSalle, CO, won the pen of three female show in the Denver Yards. Blake Oschner, Torrington, WY, Brooke Bieber, Onida, SD, and Bill Goehring, Libertyville, Iowa, teamed up to evaluate the Yard shows which included five carloads, 39 bull pens and 16 heifer pens. read more
