Shaw launches free mobile TV app for video subscribers

Shaw Communications Inc. has launched its FreeRange TV mobile streaming app, bringing the company in line with rivals in offering its full TV service to any subscriber with an Internet or mobile data connection. The company says the new app is free for any of its 2.6 million existing cable TV and video subscribers.

(Telecompaper) Telenor Group said it surpassed the 200 million mobile subscribers mark. This represents a significant milestone in Telenor Group's history across Asia, Europe and the Nordics, the Norway-based company said. At the end of 2015, the group has 200.6 million mobile subscribers, excluding figures from Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar, up from 185.9 million at the end of 2014. Telenor Group is present in 13 markets across Asia and Europe.

DISH Network pay TV subscribers down 23,000 in 3Q 2015

DISH Network (NASDAQ:DISH) has reported results for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2015. Net Pay-TV subscribers declined approximately 23,000 in the third quarter, compared to a loss of approximately 12,000 in the third quarter 2014.

Mexico adds 437,000 pay TV subscribers in 2Q 2015

According to Mexicos Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, in the second quarter of 2015, pay TV subscriptions in the country were up 10.0% versus the the same point one year before. Mexico added 437 thousand pay TV subscribers to end the quarter with a subscriber total of 16.98 million.
