Smartphones more used for searches than PCs - Google

(Telecompaper) Search volume on smartphones has for the first time passed queries made on desktop PCs, for the first time, the Financial Times reported citing senior VP of Search Amit Singhal, speaking at the Code Mobile conference in California. The milestone was reached during the summer. Singhal declined to put a specific figure on how many searches were made on each platform, saying only that it was more than 100 billion per month. But he said that the inflection point was reached without including tablet devices in the statistic, only smartphones with screens of less than six inches. "We care about three important things: mobile, mobile and mobile," Singhal said.
