Huawei expects 10% growth in network equipment sales
2013-04-04 09:05:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Huawei expects its network infrastructure business to see at least 10 percent growth this year as rising demand for next-generation products in Europe and elsewhere more than offset lost sales in the US. The head of the company's wireless network marketing unit, Bob Cai, told the Wall Street Journal that this target was not particularly ambitious. Huawei's equipment business grew 11 percent in 2012. The wireless network equipment market was worth USD 7.4 billion in 2011, when it accounted for 23 percent of total revenues. Huawei's equipment exports to the US are stalled over security concerns.

A calamitous February test drive by a New York Times reporter created a public relations headache. The ensuing spat between Tesla and the Times raised questions...

Reuters: Electric-car maker Tesla said it expects a first-quarter profit on both a net and adjusted basis following stronger-than-expected sales of its Model S sedan, sending its shares soaring more than 19% in early trading on Monday. Tesla also said it was dropping plans to produce a low-end version of the Model S due to lack of demand, and will focus instead on higher-margin editions of the car. Model S sales exceeded 4,750 units in the quarter, higher than the 4,500 Tesla had forecast, the company...
