We are recruiting heavily due to expansion across a number of skill sets. We are keen to point out that previous experience in Space is not essential to be a consideration for this role. The GSF project requires experienced test analysts to join a small team of testers for the Galileo GSF Elements. The role will suit a person who also has experience of the testing lifecycle and the processes, and should be able to contribute to the testing activities. The Galileo Security Facility GSF is intended to provide an interface between EU member states and the Galileo core system for the management of the Galileo service and Galileo Security Monitoring. This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in the development of Galileo, Europes satellite navigation system. The SCISYS Space Division is looking for enthusiastic, ambitious and able software engineers to join our Satellite Ground Systems development teams in Bristol, UK. We deliver a wide range of projects and products to our customers, such as the European Space Agency, spanning large scale system developments used to operate satellites to small technology studies involving prototypes and technology demonstrators. We cover many software and IT aspects of the space and ground segments for spacecraft missions, including monitoring and control, planning, automation, operations data preparation, archives and big data analysis. Importantly we are also moving into product development to facilitate the trend of operating megaconstellations. The Software Test Engineer role will include working directly with the software development teams to implement the detailed test programme and support deployment and testing at the integration site and ultimately at the spacecraft control centres. The role will involve Working as part of the team to support integration and testing of software subsystems Development of Automated tests and associated test tools Support and management of a continuous integration environment to ensure that software subsystems are regularly and thoroughly tested. Support for analysis and corrective maintenance of software anomalies Direct interaction with customers to support systems testing and higher levels of integration Travel to the customer site, as required, to assist with testing, provide support or training. Proven candidates will have the opportunity to contribute more widely to the Space Division and develop and grow within the company taking on leadership roles where appropriate. Verification and Validation is an important and growing part of our business, spanning not only the ground segment but also embedded systems, as well as the validation of autonomous systems. For one of our main customers ESAESTEC, we are currently looking for Engineering Project Support for NonMetallic Materials and Processes Tasks and Responsibilities Testing of adhesive bonding systems and processes, including adhesives applications for metals and nonmetallic materials. Selection of specific adhesives for specific end uses e.g. extreme temperature applications, integrity under thermal loads. Performing general failure analysis of materials and assemblies with emphasis on adhesion issues. Evaluation of surface treatments and its effects on bonding systems. Longterm durability of adhesive joints. Surface modification and analysis due to space environmental effects like atomic oxygen and plasma effects. Performing materials qualification programmes for nonmetallic materials and analysis. Stabilisation and degradation analysis of nonmetallic materials under space environmental conditions. Producing clear and professional reports as specified for the task. Supporting the inclusion of results in internal databases. Experience and education a PhD or Master degree in materials science, materials physicschemistry or a related field together with a good working knowledge of materials process technology and a good understanding of physics. good familiarity with advanced surface analysis techniques XPS, AFM, Raman, TOFSIMS, SEM EDXWDX, FIB a strong background on other advanced materials characterisation techniques with specific emphasis in thermal analysis techniques. experience carrying out RD studies to understand behaviour of materials under extreme environments such as space. familiarity and understanding of ESA PA requirements ECSS as well as ISO17025 requirements Experience in one or more of the following techniques is also required Thermal analysis Differential scanning calorimetry DSC, temperaturemodulated DSC, dynamic mechanical thermal testing DMTA, thermo gravimetric analysis TGA, TMA, DEA, coupled thermal analysis, LFA, DDS etc. Materials characterisation techniques Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy SEM, atomic force microscopy AFM, IR UV spectroscopy, thermooptical characterisations as well as surface sensitive techniques like ESCA. Maintenance of the relevant test equipment. The Contractor shall ensure that the equipment under his responsibility is kept in an operational state and shall ensure that all necessary routine calibration and maintenance activities are carried out. Candidates must have proficiency in the English language a good knowledge of another member state language is seen to be an asset.
