Job Description For our client, the European Space Agency ESA, we are looking for a Software and Validation OnBoard and Ground Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Flight Software System Section. Tasks and Responsibilities Project support related to all technical aspects development and qualification of flight software General Support to Software Validation Facilities and Avionics Test Bench infrastructure activities Development of Software Validation Facility components as well for the generic facilities as special project applications. This includes processor emulators, simulation of spacecraft systems and spacecraft dynamics Tasks within design, test and validation of onboards software Task within customization of realtime operating systems for space applications Tasks within maintenance and expert support within the software development toolset Tasks within system evaluation, testing and performance characterization of telecommunication systems as networking via satellite or network management Design, implementation and testing tasks for the Sections technology programme. Requirements A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. In particular experience with Software engineering and objectoriented programming Space systems and Space Systems engineering Programming languages CC andor others Embedded Real Time Systems and Real Time Kernels Microprocessors such as SPARC LEON, ARM, multicores etc Communication protocols Mil1553, SpaceWire, CAN Software Engineering tools Software Engineering Standards such as the ECSSEST40C The contractor shall be able to function as part of a team. Overview The contractor will be assigned to the Flight Software Systems Section of the Software Systems Division and will be in charge of the following initial tasks Project support related to all technical aspects development and qualification of flight software. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
