Whatever the seasonal fall in textile production this summer, domestic retail sales should support demand and prices. Yarn prices have fallen across the board in Bangladesh, as a result of a sharp decline in apparel exports in the last months. Cotton use is expected to plunge this year, before rebounding in the post-Covid era, when Bangladesh will take advantage of its lower production costs and large capacities.
