Polycom to consider rival offer to Mitel bid

(Telecompaper) Polycom announced its board will consider a rival takeover offer to the agreed bid with Mitel. The new offer comes from an unnamed private equity company, identified as Sponsor 1 in a SEC filing by Polycom. Polycom's board said it still supports Mitel's offer, but would evaluate the new proposal to see if it could be considered a superior offer for shareholders.
