Facebook weighs in on Home's privacy implications

Facebook has posted a Q&A on its website about the privacy implications of its new Facebook Home software for Android phones, though it was unclear if it has addressed all the concerns raised. In a blog post, the company said it had received "a few questions about how Home works with privacy." It then posed several questions to itself about Home and privacy and answered them.

Businesses, privacy activists wrestle over California privacy bill

Businesses and privacy advocates are squaring off over a proposed law that would make California the first state in the nation to give people the right to see all the information companies have on them and to find out who the data is shared with. Groups such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the American Civil Liberties Union say California Assembly bill AB 1291 would help consumers decide whether they wanted to continue doing business with a company, based on the way it handled their personal information.

Prosecutors, others involved in Swartz case express safety, privacy concerns

The U.S government and two other entities involved in investigations leading to the indictment of the late Internet activist Aaron Swartz have asked a federal court in Boston to redact the names of people involved in the case from documents being sought by Swartz's estate and by some lawmakers.
