The Houston Chronicle cited a new study that analyzed four major Texas companies in reporting that 5 percent of workers used 55 percent of their employer's total health care benefits budget. "They are the so-called frequent fliers or super utilizers of health care whose many doctor visits and fistfuls of prescriptions add up quickly -- and may be medically unnecessary," concluded Dr. Hank Gardner, who runs the Wyoming-based Human Capital Management Services.

Sales growth in the channel was largely supported by the performance of home appliances, which benefited from the strong housing market.
