For our activities in Germany, we are looking for a person to provide Ground Stations Operations Engineering Support. TASKS Longterm planning and shortterm scheduling of the operational usage of the ground stations to support both the needs of the Flight Operations Division FLO and Ground Stations engineering team Interface with project teams for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects and major activities described in the Operational System MidTerm Evolution Plan. This will include ground station changes required to support major space segment evolutions Interfacing with the ground stations maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimized performance by the ground stations, including participating in the definition, specification and implementation of any changes Planning and coordination of upgrades, repairs and evolutions with the engineering teams and FLO division Organizing the validation of these upgrades, repairs and evolutions with the Controller Teams Definition and maintenance of ground station operations procedures and operations guides Maintaining operational ground stations databases Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and correctionmitigation, participation in associated Anomaly Review Boards Provision of training, through production and presentation of written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Department Mandatory Skills University degree in a relevant technical discipline or the equivalent ground stations experience At least 5 years experience in ground stations TTC operations in support of multiple Geostationary GEO andor Low Earth Orbit LEO spacecraft At least 5 years experience in a realtime 247 spacecraft operations environment, ideally in an earth observation environment Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills Able to work effectively in English EU national or valid work permit for Germany CV in Europass format Distinct advantage Major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations Defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground stations interfaces between ground stations and ground segments Firstline hardware and software failure diagnosis and correction Baseband operation and configuration

Specifically the Key person shall have Proven experience in the design, implementation, and testing of complex scientific algorithm software Proven experience of software development in C, C and Fortran in a UNIX environment Proven experience in software development using data visualisation and analysis tools e.g. PYTHON, IDL Experience in configuration control of software and data Sound knowledge and experience in the area of Atmospheric Motion Vectors extraction from satellite imagery, or experience with image processing algorithms in the area of feature identification and tracking, or experience with optical flow methods would be a distinct advantage. Another distinct advantage would be experience in operational data processing. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. Tasks and Responsibilities Fluid Structures, Vibroacoustic and Shock Modelling and Analysis You shall be responsible for the generation and setup of dynamic mathematical models for fluidstructure interaction effects, vibroacoustic and shock response for spacecraft, launchers and instruments of Agency funded projects using the Finite Element, the Boundary Element, and the Statistical Energy Analysis method where applicable, taking into account the specific objectives of such analyses for incompressible and compressible fluids. The above shall include but not be limited to tanks with without membranes, solar arrays, spacecraft subsystem and system models. Shall further perform the dynamic analysis modes, frequency transient acoustic responses shock responses, evaluate critically the results and issue relevant documentation covering all analysis steps Shall take into account the specific objectives of such analyses and where necessary nonlinear approaches shall be considered and specific solution sequences shall be developed Shall support the Agency in the definition and implementation of technology developments in this area aiming at enhancing relevant tools and methodologies Dynamic Test Data Analysis and Correlation You shall be responsible for the support to the Agency in operating analysis tools for the analysis of dynamic test data modal survey, frequency transient responses, shock responses for spacecraft launchers of Agency funded projects and comparison with analytical predictions Shall further perform where relevant modal identification of the test data, evaluate critically the results and make usage of these results for updating structural finite element models Shall perform where relevant, assessment of shock response data Shall take into account the specific objectives of such analyses and where necessary nonlinear approaches shall be considered and specific solution sequences shall be developed Shall issue relevant documentation covering all analysis steps. Where applicable you shall produce advanced reduced dynamic mathematical models Generation of Load Cases for Static and Dynamic Structural Dimensioning You shall be responsible for the generation and setup of load cases for static and dynamic structural analysis design and tests for Agency funded projects. Heshe shall make use of mathematical model responses, Launcher Coupled Analysis results, MultiBody Dynamics analysis tools, as well as test flight data and be familiar with spacecraft design practices. Heshe shall also evaluate critically the results and the loads and issue relevant documentation.
